Miguel Gaytán is the Vice President of News at Telemundo Arizona with news operations in Phoenix and Tucson.
He began his television career at KLDO TV 27 in Laredo, Texas, in 1996 as a master control operator, then transitioned to news as an associate producer and eventually News Director. He joined KWEX TV 41 in 2005, where he won multiple Lone Star Emmys with the news team as an executive producer. In 2014 he was promoted to news director in KAKW TV 62.
In 2016 Gaytán became news director of Telemundo Arizona and was later promoted to vice president of news. He earned multiple Rocky Mountain Emmys with his team and helped launch numerous newscasts during the weekday. Gaytan currently serves as secretary for the First Amendment Coalition of Arizona and recently served as regional director for the National Association of Hispanic Journalists in region seven, serving Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah & Wyoming.
